Nell Coogan earned her undergraduate degree from Ithaca College and graduated cum laude from Vermont Law School in 1982. Ms. Coogan worked as a public defender in Concord, New Hampshire for two years before returning to Vermont to engage in general civil litigation for 10 years. Thereafter, she worked as the Administrative Director of the Lake Champlain Waldorf School in Shelburne, Vermont.
Ms. Coogan completed the Mediation Certification Program at Woodbury College and the Mediation Workshop at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School and began an independent mediation practice in 2006. In addition to her work at the firm defending professional liability claims, Ms. Coogan continues her busy mediation and arbitration practice – she has mediated over 300 matters including, among many other matters, divorces, school and workplace claims, and employer-employee disputes - and she performs Title IX investigations, workplace investigations and school Independent Reviews.
Ms. Coogan is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in the State of Vermont.
