Cooley, Cooley & Foxx, Inc., a Burlington, Vermont law firm specializing in civil litigation seeks an associate attorney licensed in the State of Vermont to join its active and growing practice. Our practice is focused on professional liability defense, professional licensing matters, insurance coverage, workers’ compensation defense, and general civil litigation. We regularly represent professionals, including physicians, attorneys, judges, architects, engineers, real estate brokers, and accountants. We also represent insurance companies in coverage disputes, several large employers in workers’ compensation disputes and a variety of business entities with respect to corporate compliance and contract negotiations. Litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, is preferred, but not required. A successful candidate will have strong writing skills and the intellectual capacity to delve deeply into the complex legal issues that often arise in our cases. We anticipate that a successful candidate will have direct client contact and, depending on experience, be responsible for managing his or her own caseload.
